The origins of Grupo Radio Centro in the radio broadcasting industry date back over 50 years, when in 1946, Grupo Radio Centro’s founder, Don Francisco Aguirre J. established the Company.

In 1952 he founded Organización Radio Centro (ORC), the sole owner and operator of two radio stations, Radio Centro and Radio Exitos.

In 1965, the Company forms Organización Impulsora de Radio (OIR), to provide national sales representation to affiliated radio stations outside Mexico City.

In 1973, Grupo Radio Centro expands its broadcasting activities by establishing three new FM radio stations, thus consolidating its position as the market leader in Mexico City radio broadcasting.

In 1979, Doña Ma. Esther Gómez de Aguirre assumes the position as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

In 1983, Grupo Radio Centro begins its international transmissions.

In 1986, the Cadena Radio Centro (CRC) is created to provide programming and network sales representation to the affiliate radio stations providing service to the Spanish-speaking population of the United States.

In 1993, the Company simultaneously completes an initial public offering of its ADSs and CPOs, listing its securities on the NYSE and the Mexican Stock Exchange, respectively.

GRC’s corporate headquarters are moved to a new building named Trébol Radio Centro on the Constituyentes property. Included in the building installations are the most advanced telephone and computer networks, and similarly, sophisticated digital radio broadcasting equipment, making this building a “Smart Building”.

In 1994, the Company sells CRC and makes an investment in Heftel Broadcasting.

In 1995, GRC acquires 33% of Radiodifusión Red and sells its investment stake in Heftel.

In January of 1996, GRC consolidates 100% of Radiodifusión Red.

In July of 1996, the company completes a Secondary Public Offering both on the BMV and NYSE.

1997 is an exceptional year with a large increase in sales and profit margins from the advertising expenditures of the national political parties, AFORES and the competition between the long-distance telephone companies.

In 2000, Grupo Radio Centro maintains its leadership position, improving its profit margins due to the large amount of airtime purchases from the political parties.

In 2001, to complement its activities related to the radio industry, the Company expands its range to include the Internet and other communication mediums including television and print. The Company acquired, To2, an Internet Portal and Palco Deportivo, a company providing sports-related content for radio, television, various print media and its own Internet portal.

GRC was the first Latin American media company and the sixth Mexican company to list its stock on the New York Stock Exchange. Since then , it has been the only Latin American radio company listed on the NYSE.

Grupo Radio Centro’s ticker symbol on the New York Stock Exchange is RC and RCENTRO-A on the Mexican Stock Exchange.
